A Task is simply a unit of work to be tracked and for which feedback can be sought (if needed).
Task templates help "standardize" work processes within functional groups. Templates can be leveraged to have a well defined on-boarding process or can be used for on-going coaching and work management.
For example, for a website design firm, "Website Concept Design" could be a Task template and it may look like this:
Website New Concept Design {Template Name}
Expectations [Competency Tag]
‐ Create Wireframe with ease of information flow [Wireframing]
‐ High Impact Visual Language creation [Visual Design]
‐ Effective use of Brand colors and guidelines [Visual Design]
‐ Clean, crisp and consistent design across elements [Visual Design]
‐ HIgh Impact and appropriate use of Images [Innovativeness]
‐ Overall innovativeness and new approaches to interaction [Innovativeness]
These Task Templates, allow users to follow or start from a standard process. It not only makes their tracking easy, but also helps them not miss important steps.
Note that these should not be confidential documents as any user can have an access to these files by joining a certain group. A person only sees the templates of the groups they are part of. Anyone can join any group from the “User Info” area of their profile.
